My artistic seed first took root in high school. I dappled with photography as a hobby supported by the annual yearbook program, and devoured every art class my small school offered. For years, I struggled to balance my identity as an artist with discovering a career that would support me. When I graduated from university with a BA in English, I wrestled unhappily with a job market that seemed to push me into an office or settle for numbing position in retail. Droning days of answering the phones, of sending the same emails hundreds of times a day, of battling customer service was killing my spirit. I was unhappy. I was bitter. When such a large facet of your life is a cesspool of negativity, it is inevitable that it spills over into your personal life as well. I was making everyone close to me just as miserable.

 It wasn't until I held a part time job at a local hospital as a newborn photographer that I realized I could turn my freelance hobby into a full blown career. One that actually brought me joy. I didn't have to sacrifice my creativity in lieu of a paycheck anymore. From that realization on, I immersed myself in online classes, and I spent hours with my camera, testing the waters, and pursued avenues of inspiration as they struck me. I trudged through the legalities of establishing my own business, and took classes on how to book clients - making slow and steady progress.

As time marched on, my image and style have evolved. The driving force of my company, however, has never waned.  'Die Schönste' means 'the most beautiful' and my art strives to capture the most beautiful moments in life.
